Funny, in a quite sad way. And yes, unfortunately, it STILL has to be said! I've thought about this ever since seeing "The Good Earth" as a teen. I understood Hollywood's "economics" argument, but that doesn't still hold true in a country not quite as benighted as it was then. Look at our film 'journey' from "My Beautiful Laundrette" to "The Hundred-Foot Journey."
